Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the subsequent closure of the Society’s building to ensure compliance with the Government’s control measures, eight members of Society staff have been furloughed.
The affected team members have roles that are directly related to the running of the building or require their presence on site, and as such they are not able to do their jobs at home.
The decision to make use of the Government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, which is designed to protect jobs and avoid redundancies, was made by the Society’s Council in April after considering all the available options.
If any Fellows or members have any questions relating to our approach to furloughing staff, please email director@rgs.org.
