Last Monday, 27 March, the Society supported a knowledge exchange event on the growing use of drones in UK skies.
The event, held at the Society’s building in London, was led by Dr Anna Jackman from the University of Reading and brought together regulators, policymakers and researchers to discuss opportunities and barriers in the field.
The workshop is part of a wider piece of work, Diversifying drone stories, that is exploring how drones may be (re)shaping and disrupting airspaces and everyday lives. The project, funded through support from the Economic and Social Research Council, engages with diverse stakeholders, understandings, and experiences of dronified airspace, and is interested in both potential drone benefits, opportunities, misuses, and harms.
