Liam Saddington, a DPhil candidate in the School of Geography and the Environment at the University of Oxford, is one of 11 students to receive the Dudley Stamp Memorial Award in 2018. Liam received £500 towards the cost of travelling to the Republic of Kiribati in the central Pacific Ocean to investigate how rising sea levels are affecting the political futures of small island states.

Liam is currently in Fiji where he is setting up interviews for his time in Kiribati and has been Tweeting about his experiences. You can follow him @Saddy_94
