We are delighted to announce that a range of continuing professional development (CPD) courses from Esri UK and Ireland, GIS24 and WSP have been approved to use the Society’s CPD Mark.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an integral part of any career. It is also central to applying for and maintaining Chartered Geographer (CGeog) accreditation. To support Chartered Geographers in selecting CPD that is appropriate, the Society offers a CPD Mark, to recognise courses and providers.
The use of the CPD Mark raises the profile of the CPD activity, highlights its relevance for Chartered Geographer and other professional accreditations, and indicates the number of CPD points earned towards a Chartered Geographer’s annual record of CPD.
The recently approved courses using our CPD Mark include:
Training providers can make an application to use the CPD Mark at any time. The content and delivery of their courses is assessed by at least two Chartered Geographer Initial or Final Assessors with expertise in the field. When reviewing the course, the Assessors refer to the Chartered Geographer Framework of Competencies to ensure the skills and knowledge developed are suitable for professional geographers.
If you are a training provider and are interested in having your course considered for the CPD Mark, please contact cgeog@rgs.org
