The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is an international, multi-campus university tracing its roots back to 1828 and leading the way in modern learning today. UCLan’s Outdoor Adventure Leadership degree gives students everything they need to start a professional career in diverse roles. We have designed a programme that utilises experiential learning through five residential weeks (each year) in challenging locations, these are supported by remote learning methods. This provides a flexible approach to obtaining a degree whilst gaining valuable experience in the outdoors.

Polar Impact is an inclusive network of racial and ethnic minorities and allies in the polar research community. Their mission is to support, connect, and highlight the stories of Black, Asian, Indigenous, people of colour, and minority ethnic professionals in the polar research community. The Polar Portals project connects children with science-based role models who might feel polar and data science is not an accessible future. Immersive and interactive postcards, commissioned from BIPOC artists, will be sent to Antarctica with polar explorers, then posted to UK inner city school children to inspire and engage them with the polar regions.
