The influence of Beatrix Potter tourism on the Lake District

Naomi Allen, Fahima Madaser, Salma Begum and Maarya Siddiqui

This one day fieldtrip to the Windermere region of the Lake District National Park involves a study of the influence that Beatrix Potter's literature has had on sites surrounding her former home at Hilltop Farm. Students investigate the positive and negative impacts of tourism within the National Park, and build a case study of the impact of tourism on honey-pot sites.
