The June editions of Area, The Geographical Journal and Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers are now available online.

The journals publish papers from across the full spectrum of geography, each with a different remit. Area publishes short articles that contribute to understanding of a specific geographical issue or topic, Transactions publishes landmark contributions that serve to significantly shape the discipline, and The Geographical Journal publishes papers that use geographical knowledge and skills to address public issues.

In the June issue of Area, papers consider the ethics of conservation, sustainable fashion, and the use of photo-elicitation, alongside a special section on the use of interviews in research, edited by Alan Latham and Russell Hitchings and based on a session at the Society’s 2021 Annual International Conference.

The June issue of The Geographical Journal contains a special section looking at issues of justice in the blue economy around the world. The issue also contains articles on reducing academic flying, youth participation in environmental activism, and daily water-level forecasting for Polish lakes, among others.

This issue of Transactions includes papers on topics such as engagement with nature during Covid-19 lockdowns, the politics of indigeneity in relation to land-use rights, the geographies of live-in elder care in China, and diplomatic relations surrounding the 1990 Cambodian National Dance Company UK tour.

The Society publishes four issues of Area, The Geographical Journal, and Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers annually, alongside two issues of Geo: Geography and Environment.
