Geomorphologist Dr Robert Price, who died on 29 November 2012, was a specialist in how ice shaped landscapes.
His interest in the Quaternary period informed his contribution to more contemporary issues, and he became a consultant after retiring from the Geography Department of Glasgow University in 1990.
He was a Council member of the Institute of British Geographers and Editor of Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers (1970–1974)
