Flavia is a Project Manager at Greenfield - a renewable energy development and investment company. Flavia is a qualified Engineer and has worked in the renewable energy sector for six years.
About
I have worked in the renewable energy development sector for six years. I have founded and managed hundreds of megawatts of projects - both standalone solar and storage projects, as well as hybrid projects, across the UK.
I studied an undergraduate BASc at UCL, majoring in Engineering (with a sustainable engineering focus) and minoring in Cultures (with a fine art focus). I achieved a First Class Honours and Faculty Dean's List 2020 nomination.
I am Italian and grew up in Rome, Italy. I went to school there until the age of 18, before I moved to the UK. I achieved 43 points at the IB, which placed me in the 99.1 percentile of my global cohort.

Current or most recent role
As Project Manager, I am part of a team that develops utility scale renewable energy projects, from initial conception through to planning consent.
I built half of Exagen Group’s founding 2GW pipeline, which led to Octopus Energy’s 24% stake in the company, valued at £35mn.
I incepted Normanton Energy Reserve (NER), a 500MW/1GWh BESS project, in August 2021, seeing it through to Planning Approval in January 2024. NER is 10 times larger than 95% of storage projects across the UK. According to National Grid up to 35GW of storage capacity will be needed by 2050 to facilitate the transition to a low carbon grid. This project alone would deliver 1.4% of this national requirement, significantly accelerating the country’s transition to a net zero future.
Why I want to become a professional ambassador
The need for a sustainable energy matrix globally is increasingly paramount. I am passionate about bridging the gender imbalance in the field, and intertwining the understanding that both human development and sustainability must work for one another, not against.
Previous experience
In May 2022 I presented at Virtual Sustainability Careers Conference for St George's British International School, Rome, Italy.
In August 2023 I ran a KS2 clean energy workshop at Parkland Junior School, Romford, UK.
In June 2024 I presented at a Virtual Green Careers Week for David Ross Education Trust, UK.
