About
I undertook an RGS sponsored gap year in 2013/14. I then began my undergraduate degree in geography at Coventry university, whilst studying I undertook two internship placements, one with the Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre and another with an Indian NGO called EduCARE India.
After I graduated in 2018 I then worked for four years in public sector GIS roles before going back to university to study an MSc in Global Urban Development and Planning. Since graduating in 2023 I have been a nature-based-solutions consultant at Greengage Environmental.

Current or most recent role
My current role of consultant requires me to advise private, public and third sector clients on how they can integrate biodiversity and nature into their organisations. I evaluate the biodiversity value of client's assets and suggest Green Infrastructure interventions which can increase their assets biodiversity and climate resilience value, for example by recommending the installation of green roofs, SuDS and green walls.
I also undertake ecosystem service assessments for clients to highlight the environmental services that potential green infrastructure can deliver for them.
Previous experience
I have previously been involved in the ambassador programme when I was an undergraduate. I am also currently a STEM ambassador and I focus on attending career days so I can promote geosciences and environmental consultancy to students about to pick their GCSE's, A-Levels, and university courses.
Why I want to become a Professional Ambassador
I have been involved with the society since I was 18, and I am eager to continue my involvement. Geography and climate science have always been deep passions of mine, and I also enjoy promoting the study of these subjects, having previously served as a Geography Ambassador. Becoming a Professional Ambassador would provide an excellent opportunity to channel my enthusiasm for promoting geography and the RGS to a wider audience.
