This event will explore how fabric, one of humanity’s oldest technologies, is being reimagined through art, fashion and design for regenerative futures. This will be an inspiring evening exploring how textiles can help shape regenerative futures. Bringing together leading voices in art, design, and sustainability, the event examines fabric as both material and metaphor for environmental stewardship, cultural identity, and innovation.

From monumental, hand-stitched public artworks to cutting-edge academic research and industry leadership, our speakers share how textiles can reconnect us to the planet and each other.

Meet our speakers

Lisa Roet is an internationally acclaimed Australian artist, renowned for her circular, fabric based public art installations highlighting biodiversity loss and urbanisation.

Sarah Pringle is Founder of Art Partners, global champions of sustainable cultural projects with pioneering carbon reporting and offsetting practices.

Claudine Rousseau is Dean, School of Design and Technology, London College of Fashion, promoting sustainability, social equity and inclusive practices in fashion and textile design education.

Dr Marie O’Mahony is the Programme Leader, MSc E-textiles and wearable technologies at the Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton. Her books include Techno Textiles, Techno Textiles 2, Cyborg: The Man Machine and Sportstech.

Chaired by Lucy Siegle, a journalist and broadcaster who has spent much of her career exploring the intersections between fashion, the environment, and social justice.
