The triple planetary crisis refer to the three main issues that humanity currently faces: climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss. These issues are particularly felt in the Arctic, where climate amplification is leading to warming above the global average, terrestrial and marine pollution is encroaching on formerly pristine environments, and fragile Arctic ecosystems are suffering extensive destruction.
Through a series of short lectures, early and mid-career researchers from Liverpool John Moores University will provide an insight into their recent research into these fields, and the current knowledge on these topics. This will include a look into recent findings from fieldwork in Greenland, Iceland, and Svalbard.
