Explore the Royal Geographical Society's historic Collections - 4.00pm

Join us for an inside look at our Collections, spanning two million artefacts, maps, instruments, and photographs tracing over 400 years of geographical exploration and research.

Principal Librarian Eugene Rae will share the stories behind some of the most famous and fascinating objects in our Collections, and Cartographic Collections Manager Katie Parker will guide you through the centuries-long journey to map the Pacific Ocean.

You'll also have the chance to see Midnight Sun, a new exhibition of photographs by award-winning polar and wildlife photographers Sue Flood OBE and Ian Dawson, and to enjoy the evening’s Monday night lecture, Saving seahorses to help save our seas with Professor Amanda Vincent.

This event forms part of Westminster City Council’s Silver Sunday programme, welcoming the borough’s older residents to the Society to discover stories behind some of the most famous and fascinating objects in our Collections.
