The RGS-IBG Annual International Conference offers a valuable opportunity to share your research and engage with the wider geography community. But how do you get involved, especially if you are new to the conference? This webinar will guide you through the different ways to participate, with a focus on submitting an abstract to the open call and convening or contributing to organised sessions.
We will explain how the conference is structured, how to identify appropriate sessions for your work, and how to decide whether to contribute to an existing session or propose your own.
You will also learn how to write a strong abstract, what convenors are looking for, and how to approach session organisers. The session will cover key timelines, practical steps in the submission process, and tips for increasing your chances of acceptance.
There will be time for questions, giving you the opportunity to build confidence in taking an active role in the conference.
