Sophie is a GP, Expedition Doctor, Researcher in Medical Anthropology and Documentary Filmmaker. She has always been drawn to stories; in the clinic room, out in the field and increasingly on screen. Using storytelling as a creative and clinical catalyst, her work focuses on improving population mental health through exploration of the intersections between humanity, health and the arts.

Sophie utilises her research findings to design context-specific mental health training for expeditions and humanitarian work. She is also the co-founder of ‘Moral Injury Partnership’: a residential workshop programme supporting frontline workers experiencing moral injury and burnout.

She is a proud fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Royal Society of the Arts and Churchill Fellowship and is Vice Chair of the Explorers Club Great Britain and Ireland Chapter.
