Lily Innes Jones is a PhD student in Physical Geography and keen mountaineer, interested in mountains and their role as the world’s natural ‘water towers’. Lily is particularly interested in expeditions that combine exploration and fieldwork, and in how mountain environments influence the quantity and quality of water available to downstream communities.

To date, her fieldwork has taken her across the UK, the European Alps, Greenland and the Andes, working in a range of remote and challenging environments.

Alongside her research, Lily works as a Rock Climbing Instructor, sharing her experience of climbing and love of the outdoors with others, particularly young and aspiring mountaineers!
