Will Bonynge is an outdoor instructor and alpinist based in Sheffield, with over eight years of climbing experience across rock, alpine and expedition objectives. He holds the Mountain Leader and Rock Climbing Instructor qualifications, as well as dabbling in paddlesports & scuba diving.
Will has spent years in youth work as an outdoor education mentor, supporting neurodiverse young people to build confidence and resilience through time in outdoor environments. He has also worked on overseas youth expeditions in Costa Rica, Kenya and Peru, where group welfare, logistics and remote operations sit alongside the learning and development of the young people involved.
His personal passions are in remote, high-altitude terrain. A few of his expeditions include a 2022 British Exploring Society expedition to Russian Siberia which began on the first day of the invasion of Ukraine. In 2024 he travelled to the Georgian Caucasus to explore and attempt unclimbed alpine routes, and this autumn he has been part of an Alpine Club expedition to the Eastern Pamirs in Tajikistan, aiming for first ascents of remote unclimbed 5,000m peaks in fast and light alpine style.
