Freshta was the Programme Manager for the first Afghan Women's Mountaineering Team, operating out of Kabul.
She is an accomplished high altitude mountaineer and internationally outspoken women's rights advocate, who has featured in several documentaries and been the subject of numerous press and magazine articles. She has a Master’s degree in Outdoor Therapy.
Freshta became part of the RGS community in September 2019, when she was a speaker for a Monday night lecture regarding the first female summit of the highest mountain in Afghanistan (Mt Noshaq 7492m).
