Biography
Alan is Teaching and Learning Lead for the School of Business, Computing and Social Sciences at the University of Gloucestershire. He was previously Academic Course Leader for the Doctorate in Business Administration. Alan is an Academic Course Leader for Logistics Management (Malaysia and Vietnam) and teaches on the Global MBA programme and undergraduate International Hospitality and Tourism Management courses. His research interests include experiential pedagogies and the construction of place through marketing and events. Alan was awarded an Advance HE National Teaching Fellowship in 2021 for influential work on student-led learning and peer teaching. He is currently Chair of the Geography and Education Research Group of the Royal Geographical Society and is a former Director and Trustee of the Geographical Association.
