Biography

Benjamin Boyes is a Quaternary geologist specialising in reconstructing past cryosphere environments, with expertise in reconstructing glacier and ice sheet dynamics in Eurasia, especially Russia. Ben works extensively with remotely-sensed data in Geographic Information Systems to map and invert glacial landform records. In his research, Ben draws on Russian and non-Russian language published literature to bridge knowledge gaps and properly address the uncertainty in reconstructing former glaciated regions. Ben has conducted fieldwork in a variety of locations, including Arctic Russia and Siberia, the United Kingdom, Greenland, and Sweden.
