Biography

Clare is a leading flood hydrologist with the Environment Agency. Her work includes overseeing national best practice guidance for operational flood hydrology, quality assurance on complex and high risk capital works schemes and developments, research and development into new data and methods, and supporting training for flood hydrologists across the EA. She also works as a flood forecasting duty officer for incident response. She has a PhD in fluvial geomorphology and an undergraduate degree in geography from the University of Cambridge. Her interests include hydrology for design projects and real-time flood forecasting, reservoir safety management, long term channel change, uncertainties in flood estimation, and flood defence policy.
