Biography
Eleanore is a Catchment Scientist at Atkins’ Environment Practice who specialises in fluvial geomorphology and spatial data science. She identifies and designs sustainable river restoration (e.g. river realignments, floodplain reconnections, Natural Flood Management) that meets legislative requirements and is particularly interested in delivering nature-based solutions that provide multiple benefits (such as flood risk reduction, carbon sequestration, biodiversity gains). Her technical experience is supported by her PhD in Geography which used machine learning to model the influence of catchments on river habitats and she brings this spatial approach into her work in consultancy. Eleanore works on a range of projects from regional strategies and innovation pieces for private companies and regulators, to working with individual landowners and engaging with local communities.
