Biography
Keely is a geoscientist at the British Geological Survey, and holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees (MSc, PhD) in geography. Her scientific research focusses on the impacts of people and long-term changes in hydroclimate on freshwater water quality and quantity in low latitude lake systems. Keely is currently on secondment to the BGS Executive function, proving strategic scientific support to the senior management team. She is involved in many professional aspects of science, including leading the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion programme and Research Ethics at BGS, acting as an editor for Climate of the Past, and supporting the scientific community with roles on the councils of the International Society for Diatom Research and the Scientific Steering Committee of Past Global Changes.
