Biography
Dr Luke Burns is an Associate Professor in Quantitative Human Geography, based in the School of Geography, at the University of Leeds. Luke specialises in the application of GI/GIS to contemporary issues, including crime, housing, education, and transport, but with a particular focus/interest in public health. Luke teaches both undergraduate and taught postgraduate (Masters) students in GIS and related spatial data skills, plus specialist topics including geodemographic and the use of methods such as composite indices to measure phenomena. He publishes work in academic journals and works with organisations (public, private, and third sectors) on a range of spatial projects. Luke is currently the Director of Taught Postgraduate (Masters) Student Education in the School of Geography, at the University of Leeds.
