Biography

Dr Natasha Wallum is a physical geographer specialising in remote sensing, GIS, and field observation to investigate surface processes and environmental change in dryland environments. Her research integrates satellite imagery, spectral analysis, and laboratory techniques to examine sediment and surface properties, enhancing understanding of dust emissions, geomorphic dynamics, and their links to climate variability and environmental risk. At the University of Oxford, she teaches and leads research on the physical drivers of landscape change, applying geospatial and analytical methods to address real-world challenges in Earth system science, climate adaptation, and environmental monitoring.
