Biography
Patrick Rickles is Head of Digital Innovation at the North Sea Transition Authority, where he leads initiatives in digital capability, innovation, AI adoption and business transformation. He holds a PhD in Geographic Information Science from UCL and has over 20 years' experience applying geospatial technologies across academia, government and industry. Patrick has authored many publications on GIS, digital skills and organisational transformation, and serves as Deputy Head of Digital Strategy and EDI for the Government Geography Profession and as a Director of the Association for Geographic Information. His interests lie in the intersection of geospatial technologies, emerging digital capabilities and organisational change, with a particular focus on helping organisations develop the skills, culture and confidence needed to realise value from innovation and data-driven decision making.
