Dr Peter Brunner CGeog (Geomorph)
Biography
I am a practicing geographer with a specialisation in fluvial geomorphology, focusing on geomorphological and ecological assessments of rivers to develop effective habitat restoration solutions. Currently, I serve as the Associate Director of Geomorphology and Habitat Restoration at a leading environmental and engineering consultancy. With extensive experience across the UK, Europe, and Australia, I have led a wide range of fluvial catchmentscale studies, both in academic and consulting environments. My expertise includes strategic river restoration planning, the design and implementation of river and lake restoration projects and assessing the impact of inchannel structures (such as barriers) on river systems' hydromorphology. I am skilled in developing tailored options and detailed designs to improve river continuity and enhance fish passage, ensuring that ecological goals are met alongside engineering considerations.
