Biography
Sarah is a Research Scientist driven by her passion and curiosity for the natural world. She obtained a BSc Hons. in Geography from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Ecology and Conservation from Lancaster University. Her PhD from the University of Leeds and further postdoctoral work focused on alpine river ecosystem response to glacier retreat. Currently based in the Chief Scientist’s Group at the Environment Agency, Sarah’s research investigates anthropogenic influences on the biodiversity of rivers and lakes. Her current projects consider how ecological networks can help us to understand the ecological impacts of multiple stressors. She is interested in how science can be best applied to address the pressures facing aquatic ecosystems in a changing world.
