Biography

Dr Stephanie Davidson PhD, CGeog (Geomorph), FRGS, is a Chartered Geomorphologist, geologist, and river systems specialist with more than 29 years’ experience across engineering and environmental consultancy, research, and teaching. Stephanie applies deep understanding of geomorphology to practical river engineering, NFM, NbS, natural channel design, EIA and WFD compliance, geohazard mapping, sediment transport analysis, fluvial audits, RCA surveys, long-term landscape evolution, and geomorphic landscape design. Across her career, Stephanie has led technical teams, devised innovative methodologies, authored technical reports, publications and presentations, trained and mentored professionals, and reviewed journal submissions. Stephanie contributes to professional standards by assessing RGS chartership applications. Stephanie is also a Trustee of the Skye & Lochalsh Rivers Trust and is working with the WWF in Greece. As the founder of Sidlaw Geoscience, she brings recognised technical rigour, broad sector experience and practical judgement to projects that work with natural river and landscape processes.
