Biography
I am an environmental geographer whose research spans hydrology, freshwater governance, urban resilience, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation. My work examines hydro-social systems by assessing and monitoring environmental risks, including flooding and water pollution, and developing real-time early warning systems to strengthen resilience and support equitable access to water resources. I adopt interdisciplinary and systems-based approaches to understand the interactions between hydrological processes, governance, and society. A central focus of my research is the co-production of knowledge, integrating local perspectives, values, and practices to strengthen governance capacity and inform inclusive, evidence-based policy. My research is internationally comparative, impact-oriented, and addresses complex environmental challenges across both the Global South and the UK. I am currently affiliated with the Centre for Environmental Research and Justice (CERJ) and the Birmingham Institute for Sustainability and Climate Action (BISCA).
