Biography

Emma currently works as Subject Leader for Geography and Deputy Head of Sixth Form at Castle Rushen High School in the Isle of Man. She has a BA Geography awarded by Edge Hill College, specialising in Human Geography and a PGCE Geography from Edge Hill University. In 2016, Emma was awarded Masters of Arts Education (Geography) from Edge Hill University. Her dissertation focussed on young people’s geographies and their potential impact on the school curriculum. Following the Geography Department’s Quality Mark and Centre of Excellence awards in 2017 and in 2020 from the Geographical Association, Emma established a GA Isle of Man Branch in December 2018. In May 2020, Emma was awarded the Ordnance Survey Award for excellence in geography education at secondary level from the Royal Geographical Society. In October 2022 Emma enrolled on the Sheffield EdD at Sheffield University.
