Biography

With a BSc and PGCE in Geography from the University of Bristol Kate has held leadership roles as Head of Geography, Extended Curriculum Co-ordinator Post 16 and Deputy Head of Sixth form. Aside from Geography Kate has taught AS citizenship, the EPQ and developed outdoor education as DofE Co-ordinator and Ten Tors manager. Kate completed an MEd and NPQSL focusing on whole school interventions. Kate has a breadth of experience examining GCSE and A Level Geography, and also as a Team Leader moderating for the EPQ. She previously held the role of ITEC, supporting trainees from Exeter University. Kate has overseen foreign expeditions and her interest in travel, exploration and fieldwork was cemented by conducting research in Greenland with the Fuchs Foundation. Currently Kate is making use of her recent Chartered Teacher accreditation with the Chartered College to support teaching and learning of high quality Geography. From September she is Assistant Head-Head of Sixth Form at a school in Exeter.
