Biography

Alun is currently Subject Leader for Geography at Monmouth Comprehensive School, having previously taught Geography and held management positions in a central Newport School. Alun has established teaching and learning links with several universities across South Wales and has worked closely with external bodies such as Natural Resources Wales to produce educational resources. Alun also regularly assesses for the WJEC exam board. Alun strongly believes that the knowledge and understanding that the study of geography brings, can help deal with the challenge of key global problem. It is a subject that helps build informed and globally-minded citizens that are capable decision-makers. Alun is also a very keen traveller and enjoy the experience of spending time and interacting in different cultures and locations. Alun has travelled extensively and helped lead expeditions to locations such as Mongolia.
