Biography
As well as being a Chartered Geographer Andrew is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, having originally qualified as a rural practice surveyor, a Chartered Environmentalist and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He is a career civil servant working for the Ministry of Defence in a senior management position. He has a MA from Kings College, London having earlier studied at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester and at the Joint Services Command and Staff College. Andrew’s main skills and interests are in strategic real estate management, operational planning, sustainable development and conservation. He is currently Chairman of the Biffa Award (part of the Landfill Communities Fund), Vice Chairman of the Leicestershire & Rutland Country Landowners Association and on the national Environment Committee, Honorary Secretary of the Shackleton Scholarship Fund, Executive Secretary and trustee of the Falkland Islands Trust, a Pension Trustee of the Wildlife Trusts Pension Scheme and a trustee of the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust. He is also actively involved in a number of sports related organisations and charities.
