Biography
Andy is a geospatial consultant who specialises in bridging the gap between developers, decision-makers and end users. He has a strong technical background in GIS and Earth Observation, with experience spanning a wide range of public, private and third-sector domains. For over 25 years, Andy has delivered geospatial consultancy, training and applied analysis, including for more than a decade through his consultancy APM Geo. His clients have included the World Bank, UN agencies, Ordnance Survey, Defra, the Environment Agency and numerous local authorities. In 2018, Andy co-founded Maploom, an online geospatial platform providing data collection, analysis, visualisation and reporting tools, with a particular focus on environmental applications. Alongside his professional work, Andy leads the Green Forest Hoverfly Hunt, a community science project supporting insect recording and habitat awareness, and is a volunteer warden for Woodland Trust, where he contributes to woodland monitoring and bird mapping activities
