Biography

Brian is the Operations Manager in the Flood Forecating Centre – a joint partnership between the Environment Agency and the Met Office. He leads and manages the 24/7 operational services in the FFC. BSc in Geography from the University of Greenwich, post graduate GIS from UNIGIS. Brian is also one of Government Heads of Geography and a Chartered Geographer assessor for RGS. Employed by the Environment Agency since 1997, Brian has worked in Water Resources licensing, Flood Warning and Flood Forecasting. Brian was also GIS lead when working in Kent area. In his current role Brian provides briefings on flood risk to senior stakeholders – including to the Prime Minister at COBRs. Brian also has extensive media experience.
