Biography

Christopher Evangelides is a Senior GIS and Earth Observation Consultant at Ricardo, specialising in the use of satellite data and spatial modelling for emissions inventories, air quality, and climate adaptation. With a background in physical geography and environmental science, his career has focused on applying innovative EO methods – including hyperspectral imagery and machine learning – to monitor environmental change and provide evidence for policy. He has co-authored national reports and peer-reviewed papers, with his research on post-fire regeneration now widely cited and internationally recognised. Christopher is an advocate for Earth Observation at Ricardo, mentors junior consultants, and regularly presents at international conferences. His work combines technical leadership, knowledge-sharing, and the application of satellite data to advance geography’s role in tackling global challenges.
