Mr Daisuke Takahashi CGeog

Biography

Daisuke Takahashi is an explorer, author and freelance lecturer based in Japan. In 2005, as a grant recipient of National Geographic, Takahashi led a team of archaeologists and discovered the campsite of Alexander Selkirk (1676-1721) aka the real Robinson Crusoe, in Juan Fernandez Archipelago Chile. For more than 20 years, he conducted extensive fieldwork with various specialists to research the history of exploration, castaways, mythology, mountain worship and related fields. Takahashi is author of IN SEARCH OF ROBINSON CRUSOE ( Cooper Square Press, New York, 2002) and a Fellow of both The Royal Geographical Society and The Explorers Club.
