Mr Daniel Franklin CGeog (GIS)

Biography

My geospatial career began as a Geospatial Subject Matter Expert in the British Army, where I saw first-hand how spatial data could inform critical decisions and save lives. What started as a technical discipline soon became a lifelong passion for geography and the power of location. Since then, I’ve worked across defence, public, and energy sectors, helping organisations harness GIS for meaningful insight and impact. I’m particularly focused on how cloud and SaaS technologies are transforming access to geospatial capabilities. I aim to champion geography by mentoring others, leading technical innovation, and driving geospatial strategy that delivers positive outcomes for organisations, communities, and the planet.
