Biography

Danny Thompson is a Principal GIS Consultant and Data Use Capability Lead with over 24 years’ experience applying geographical knowledge to deliver transformative solutions across infrastructure, energy and urban development projects. As a geospatial advisor, he has led enterprise GIS strategies for globally significant projects - driving innovation through advanced spatial analytics, data governance and digital engineering. Danny combines technical expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise and spatial database design with strategic leadership - mentoring teams, shaping geospatial standards and influencing organisational change. Actively engaged in professional networks, STEM outreach and champions innovation and ethical practice, leveraging emerging technologies to enhance geospatial workflows and promote best practice across the profession.
