Biography

Dominic Atkinson is Deputy Head (Co-Curricular) at Gresham’s School, where he has worked for over 15 years. An experienced Geography teacher and senior educational leader, he has taught GCSE, A level and IB Geography and previously served as Head of Geography. He continues to teach alongside his senior leadership responsibilities and has experience as an AQA examiner. As Deputy Head, Dominic leads the school’s extensive co-curricular programme, encompassing sport, music, drama, outdoor education, trips and visits, and community engagement. He has a particular interest in strategic leadership, organisational development and the role of education beyond the classroom in supporting young people’s personal development. A Chartered Geographer and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Dominic is also completing a Level 7 Senior Leadership Apprenticeship. His professional interests include geographical education, curriculum and assessment, sustainability, strategic leadership, and the development of high-quality educational experiences that connect classroom learning with the wider world.
