Biography
A Master Mariner, Admiralty Manager, Chartered Geographer, and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, with over 30 years’ experience in the commercial shipping industry; world-wide seagoing experience on various vessels; shore based employment with international marine law firms and a vessel owner/manager. In addition to investigating a wide range of marine casualties, I have also provided emergency response and on-scene casualty management services as Owners/Insurers representative in difficult jurisdictions, provided operational/technical consultancy services, provided legal advice to clients, and managed various marine claims. As Senior Marine Superintendent, I have been responsible for all aspects of operational and safety management of a diverse fleet of offshore support vessels working in the oil & gas and renewables sectors. I was part of the senior management/leadership team, provided advice on business strategy matters and also regularly provided technical and commercial advice, undertook numerous vessel/company audits, project managed numerous key company projects.
