Biography
British and Canadian citizen. Experienced GIS professional with extensive international experience in six countries, living in four countries, as a specialist in GIS, Cartography and Remote Sensing. Working in Oil and Gas, Engineering, Mining, national mapping agencies, government agencies and Telematics industries. GIS technician/analysis, GIS project management and GIS data management. I am experienced as a consultant in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Data Management, Cartography and Remote Sensing (RS) in Oil and Gas including environmental projects, mining, engineering, utilities, national mapping agencies and telematics industries. In addition to GIS analysis, extensive experience with GIS project management (contractors and team) and GIS data management. I have an in-depth knowledge of the ESRI GIS core product range including: ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap), ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online (AGOL), and Collector. Furthermore, I have good working experience with AutoCAD software and some knowledge of QGIS. My areas of expertise are the creation, management, storage and use of GIS data both for analysis and making maps. Plus reporting and providing results from investigations using this data. Also, the training with coaching/mentoring of colleagues and clients using GIS applications. My skills are with the conversion of survey data into GIS data, analysis of GIS data, creating data and map products from it, GIS data management. metadata and GIS workflow standards. I have a gift for organisation that has been an asset to previous clients when troubleshooting and solving their problems. In-depth knowledge of coordinate reference systems, transformations and datum (geoid variations). I have done lots of digitising, metadata creation and data creation in all of my previous GIS jobs; plus CAD to GIS data conversion and geodatabase creation from that data. Extensive international experience having both lived and worked in: England, Canada - Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and British Columbia, Kazakhstan (4.5 years), Iceland (4 months), Egypt (1 week), Netherlands (4 days). I have seen many different ways of doing things and believe that this compliments my work unique experience. Widely travelled to 26 countries on four continents and counting. Lots left to see and do!
