Biography

Jack Southon is a UK-based Technical Director specialising in flood risk management, hydrology and hydraulic modelling. He has extensive experience leading and reviewing flood modelling, mapping and forecasting studies for public-sector clients, including the Environment Agency and local authorities. His work spans fluvial, tidal and coastal environments, with a focus on applying robust technical analysis to support resilient infrastructure, emergency planning, environmental management and evidence-based decision-making. Jack combines technical leadership with project direction, bid development and mentoring, helping multidisciplinary teams deliver practical, defensible outcomes for communities and clients. He has contributed to major modelling and mapping.
