Mark McLauchlan FRGS CGeog (GIS) is a technology leader with more than 30 years' experience at the intersection of geography, data and digital innovation. As Founder of Koselig Solutions, he works as a fractional CTO and provides technology due diligence for private equity and investors, helping organisations assess technology, data, architecture and product strategy. He is an Honorary Fellow in the School of GeoSciences at the University of Edinburgh, where he teaches on the MSc in GIS and Earth Observation and supervises postgraduate research. Mark's research interests include large language models for geographic information retrieval and the application of spatial data to real-world decision-making. He is also co-founder and Chief Architect of Urban Airspaces, a startup developing digital platforms that enable cities to define, publish and govern low-altitude airspace. He is passionate about using geography and technology together to solve complex public and commercial challenges.
