Biography
Matt Shipton studied Geography at Southampton University before completing a masters at the International-Centre-of-Excellence-in-Water-Resources-Management (University of Adelaide, Australia). Matt has twelve years professional experience and is currently a Principal Consultant at Atkins. He is an expert in applied geoinformatics for environmental management and project manages a range of multi-disciplinary environmental assessments and options appraisals for clients across public, regulated and private sectors. Matt has worked on projects concerning: EIA for city master planning (PWA, Doha, Qatar), future proofing water supplies (South Australia Water, Adelaide), water and sanitation development strategy (EIB, Kenya and Tanzania), improving water efficiency in heavy industry (EBRD, Russia), GIS training (Europe Aid, Turkey) and catchment management (Iricambi, Brazil). He has also led a geospatial team in Bangalore investigating the risk and consequence of sewer flooding.
