Mr Mike Hayward CGeog (GIS)

Biography

Mike is a technician specialising in GIS, who has 8 years' experience working predominantly in the environment sector, using GIS, CAD and visualisation skills to deliver large-scale infrastructure. As a senior member of the Mott MacDonald Bristol and Cardiff GIS team, Mike acts as a direct mentor to several graduates, helps to manage the team and find and assess opportunities. Mike also teaches GIS to non-GIS staff, promotes the use of GIS to aid projects and looks for new GIS opportunities. On a day-to-day basis, Mike aids multi-disciplinary teams, by creating customised maps, in paper, web and app formats, and manages, enhances and analyses spatial data. Mike’s main area of interest is renewable-energy siting, borne from a background working for renewable energy developers. Mike also has experience of working on many road, rail, master-planning, and flood defence projects.
