Biography

Morgan is an ecological macro thinker, scientist and data professional whose career connects technology, environmental science, spatial evidence and public decision-making across digital, start-up, academic, national mapping, local government and wider public-sector contexts. At Welsh Government, Morgan provides strategic spatial intelligence and advice to Marine Planning and Policy leadership on high-profile programmes for marine renewable energy and evidence-led planning in Welsh seas. At Ordnance Survey, he co-developed novel AI-enabled land cover and buildings data products. In Welsh local government, Morgan led collaborative spatial strategy that transformed geospatial service delivery for thousands through modern web services, automation and open-source GIS. His digital career included database and web development, systems analysis, client consultancy and founding a Cape Town digital media company, before retraining in natural and environmental science. Morgan is former Chair of AGI Cymru and former AGI Council Director and Honorary Secretary. Interests: travel, adventure, movement, languages, biodiversity, energy, community
