Biography
Nick is a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) professional with almost 22 years of experience. Nick holds an MSc in GIS from Leeds University and has had various progressive roles throughout his GIS career. In his current role of 15 years as GIS Manager for the JBA Group of Companies (with approximately 1000 staff and £70m turnover) he manages central GIS facilities – this includes (but is not limited to) GIS software, hardware, data, licensing and third-line support. Nick is the first point of contact for GIS and chairs Group GIS meetings with Senior Managers to provide strategic direction. He has played an instrumental role in high-profile consultancy projects. Nick has extensive knowledge of MapInfo, ArcGIS and QGIS and has experience in both the public sector (Local and Central Government) and private sector. Nick is an active member of the Group IT Team at JBA and holds a Management of Risk Foundation qualification.
