Biography
Dr Rhodri Thomas is a Geomorphologist in the Water Environment team at Arup. Rhodri graduated with a degree in Environmental Geoscience at Cardiff University, where he undertook a research project looking at the geomorphological response of the River Monnow to the removal of a large weir. He subsequently authored a journal paper documenting this project. Rhodri then undertook his doctoral studies again at Cardiff University. His multi-disciplinary research employed analysis of large datasets to look at interactions between fluvial geomorphology and aquatic invertebrates at a national scale. Following his PhD, Rhodri moved into consultancy, where he works across infrastructure projects to ensure that designs work with, rather than against, earth surface processes.
